Before deciding to transfer many students will have a number of tasks to
complete and questions to ask themselves. Check out the
FAQs, the
Checklist,
2 year and 4 year College Differences
and the advantages for transfer students
to see what it's all about or where you are in your transfer process.
Academic standards, acceptance to a 4 year College, and completing a College Search are some challenges that transfer students face. A high GPA will help a student to be accepted to a 4 year College and they will need to prepare themselves for the difference in academic standards and expectations. They will also need to complete a College Search to find a possible school to transfer to. SchoolsintheUSA.com's College Search will be a useful tool for them. Preparing acceptance letters, applications, and resumes to send to possible schools will also be a factor in the student's school transfer process. SchoolsintheUSA.com's Plan for College section will help students with their College application. In addition transfer students will need to find out which universities give credit for the courses that they completed in College. Saving money is one benefit that transfer students can take advantage of. Transferring from a Community College generally allows them to complete courses at a more affordable tuition level than at a 4 year College. Also, they are more likely to be accepted to a university than students straight out of high school are because of the opportunity to improve their GPA at Community Colleges. | |||||||
